On Sunday, the George Peabody Library hosted an opening reception for a fabulous new exhibition in our gallery, The Dawn of Neurosurgery: Rare Books from the Collection of Eugene S. Flamm. The exhibition contains many amazingly illustrated Renaissance-era books documenting the development of brain surgery in Europe!

The Dawn of Neurosurgery runs through Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the George Peabody Library, 17 E. Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore, MD 21202. The George Peabody Gallery is open Monday through Friday 9 – 5, Saturdays 9 – 1, and Sundays 12 – 5. Admission is free.

Preparing for Flower Mart 2012 with a trip down memory lane.  Don’t you totally dig the color scheme one snazzy kid used last year to create her own Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (aka Dream of Poliphilus, an odd and gorgeous 15th century book)?  Missed out on the coloring fun last year?  Don’t worry! You can color your very own jaunty elephant at this year’s event, too!
May 4th & 5th, 11am-6pm
